About
I've always loved telling stories . . .
As a child, every time I was captivated by a story, a book, or a movie, I remember being fascinated by how it held my attention. That feeling consumed me. I became a storyteller by way of talking out of turn, telling jokes, and embellishing my world -- as many of my elementary school teachers would tell you -- and I loved it.
When I was in second grade I checked out a book about Steven Spielberg. I read it cover to cover that evening. It was my first look into the movie-making business, and I was hooked. Some years later I worked as a photographer and videographer for my high school yearbook and got my first real camera as a graduation gift.
The next year I went to Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida to study Communications and Media; hoping one day I would end up as a writer or director on a big budget Hollywood project. What I didn't count on was how living in St. Augustine would change my perspective.
I suddenly found myself living in the historic district of the oldest city in the US and it had me firmly in its grip. I often found myself walking the streets of the historic district to see the rows of colorful victorian houses, old brick buildings, and friendly residents. One day I started bringing my camera with me on these walks and before long I began to shoot portraits of all the interesting people I met on my way. It was during this time that I found my love for photography. I decided that the best way for me to tell the stories I wanted to tell was to photograph them.
That's what I do now -- I help people tell their stories. I'd love to help you tell yours.
